Admission Criteria:
Admissions to the MA in Economics programs at JNU are determined by the candidates’
performance in CUET (PG)-2023 and deprivation points earned by eligible candidates, as
specified in the Admission Policy 2023-24 (https://www.jnu.ac.in/sites/default/files/admission/AdmissionPolicy2023-24.pdf). The
allocation of seats will be solely based on the candidates’ performance in the Domain
Knowledge Questions (Part-B) with 100% weightage given to 75 Domain Knowledge
Questions.

Eligibility Criteria for MA in Economics (EILM with 39 seats; Last year CUT OFF
MARKS was 69):
For students aspiring to specialize in World Economy, the following eligibility criteria
must be met:
Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
Eligible subjects combinations:
Economics (Honours) with Mathematics as a subsidiary subject.
Mathematics (Honours) with Economics as a subsidiary subject.
Statistics (Honours) with Economics and Mathematics as subsidiary subjects.
Candidates with any other Bachelor’s degree (60% marks in aggregate) must have studied
Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematical Economics, and Statistics.
Eligibility Criteria for MA in Economics (ECOM with 96 seats; Last year CUT OFF
MARKS was 68.33):
For a broader specialization in Economics, candidates must fulfil the following
eligibility criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under the 10+2+3 pattern of education.
Minimum of 50% marks in the undergraduate degree.
Proficiency in Mathematics at the 10+2 level is expected and will be assessed during the
Entrance Examination.
