Overview of the DSE MA Economics Programme
The Master’s in Economics at Delhi School of Economics (DSE) is a two-year full-time program divided into four semesters. Students complete 15 courses during the program, including six core courses and nine electives.
Application process for DSE MA Economics
- Apply through CUET-PG : All aspiring candidates must register for the CUET-PG exam through the official website. This is the only mode of entry , and there is no interview process for admission to the MA Economics programme.
- Submit DSE Application Form: After the CUET-PG results are announced, eligible candidates must complete the DSE application form, providing their CUET-PG scores and other required details for final admission consideration.
Course Fees, Seats and Hostel Facility
- Seats Available: A total of 290 seats are available for MA Economics divided across two categories, with seats distributed as 59 (UR), 21 (SC), 11 (ST), 39 (OBC), and 15 (EWS). For Category 2 only students of the University of Delhi will be considered as per Program Specific Eligibility.
- Course Fees: Tuition fee is ₹8,883 per semester, with other fees like registration and security deposits, can be around ₹14,500.
- Hostel Facilities & Financial Assistance: Hostel and Financial Facilities are provided to the students. Apart from hotel facilities, DSE provides scholarships ranging to ₹10,000.
Eligibilty
- Mathematics Requirement: Applicants must have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level or higher.
- Qualifying Degree: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University & Mathematics at 10+2 level OR at least one (01) Course in Mathematics at Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from a recognized University, or B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from the University of Delhi.
- Provisional Admission: Admission is provisional until the submission of final official mark sheets of the qualifying degree, no later than 15 September.

Admission Process for DSE MA Economics
- Application Form Submission: Register for CUET-PG through the official NTA website and complete the application form.
- Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS): Apply for CSAS (PG) through the University of Delhi’s admission portal. This platform is used for seat allotment based on CUET PG scores.
- Final Merit List: After CUET-PG results, apply on the DSE portal and wait for the final merit list.
DSE MA Economics Entrance Exam Syllabus: What to Study?
- Microeconomics: Consumer Behavior, Market Structures, General Equilibrium.
- Macroeconomics: National Income, Monetary and Fiscal Policies, Growth Models.
- Mathematics and Statistics: Calculus, Probability, Linear Algebra, Optimization Techniques.
DSE Paper Pattern & Marking Scheme
- Exam Mode & Duration: Computer-Based Test (CBT) for 90 minutes, with bilingual questions (English/Hindi).
- Question Paper Structure: 75 compulsory subject-specific questions.
- Marking Scheme: +4 marks for correct answers, -1 mark for incorrect answers, and no marks for unanswered questions.
