CUET overview and test Tips

The CUET (PG) 2022 notification was released by the NTA on May 19, 2022. The exam will be conducted on the 3rd of September, 2022. 

What is CUET 2022?

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) aims to simplify the process of getting into PG programmes in Central and Participating Universities. The CUET (PG) exam will be conducted for 42 Central and participating universities in 2022 at various exam centres throughout the country for the academic year 2022-23. The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates can check the cuet.nta.nic.in website to get more information about different programmes offered by various Central and participating Universities.

Eligibility Criteria for the CUET (PG) 2022

  • Before applying for the exam, applicants should go through the eligibility criteria given in the information bulletin released by the NTA. More information on eligibility criteria is given below:
  • There is no age limit for candidates who wish to apply for the CUET PG-2022, however candidates have to fulfil the age criteria laid down by the University to which they wish to apply. 
  • Applicants should have passed the Bachelor’s degree or equivalent examination to be eligible for CUET (PG)-2022. 
  • Seats are reserved for different categories as per the guidelines given in the CUET (PG)- 2022 notification released by the NTA. However, the reservation policy of the University to which a candidate applies is applicable. In order to get more information on the reservation policy, candidates should go through NTA’s information bulletin and visit the University’s website to which candidates wish to apply.

CUET MA Economics (Code- PGQP44) Exam Pattern 2022

  • CUCET 2022 will have a total of 75 + 25 (General Aptitude) questions.
  • General Aptitude will have 25 questions and Economics section will have 75 questions.
  • There is No Restriction to move to and from among the Papers.
  • All the questions are compulsory to attempt.
  • One mark would be deducted for every wrong answer
  • Each question would carry FOUR marks for the correct answer

CUET PG 2022 Economics Preparation Tips

Have an accurate idea of the Syllabus:

The syllabus of CUET PG 2022 Economics includes highlights of the topics that any students will study for the entrance exam. The students must have a clear understanding of the CUET Economics syllabus to score well in the examination. The students must do detailed study of all the topics assigned in the syllabus along with highlighting the important topics and prioritize readings accordingly.

Keep the exam pattern in your mind:

A proper understanding of the exam pattern ensures a better result following the exam pattern, the students will have an idea on the section wise topics and types of questions that they might have to face during examination Also, it would lessen the uncertainty of the questions. Hence, the students must do their preparation with the exam paper pattern specified by NTA.

Practice Time Management:

Time management is one of the key tools for success in not only CUET but all examinations. The students must learn time management by solving maximum mock tests papers. They should also be aware of the fact that they have only 120 minutes to solve 100 questions. Solving all the questions within the stipulated time is compulsory as no extra time is granted under any circumstances. The students are advised not to waste time on the questions they do not know.

Performance Analysis:

The students must solve previous year test papers (JNU, UoH, CUET, etc) and mock questions to analyze exam preparation and enhance performance. By practicing more and more sample test papers, one can identify his/her strong and weak areas and improve accordingly and can assess their overall progress. One can look at their own performance of the past and compare with their performance in the present by solving more and more question papers.

Revision is the Key:

It’s proven that the more one revises a particular topic of the CUET PG Informatics syllabus, the more he/she becomes proficient in it. CUET has been conducted 4 times i.e., 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021. Practicing these 4 should be given utmost priority. Students are also advised to practice the Past 10-year paper of JNU SIS & SSS as well as the past year papers of University of Hyderabad to gain more confidence. The students must prepare their individual notes while studying so that they can revise at the very last minute.
